Welcome to the National League of Junior Cotillions Southside Chapter! Junior Cotillion is a character education program that teaches middle school students contemporary etiquette, manners and ballroom dancing skills. The goals of the program are to give young people self-confidence and respect by providing instruction and practice in courtesies that make life more pleasant for them and those around them.
Junior Cotillion begins in the 6th grade for Season I and continues on in the 7th grade for Season II. Classes meet one night a month starting in September and concluding with a final ball in early April. Classes are held Fuqua School in Farmville, VA.
Announcements
Classes for the 2018-2019 season will begin on Sunday, September 8th* and registration is open now! We welcome any and all 6th and 7th graders who would like to participate. If you are interested in either the Season I (6th grade) or Season II (7th grade) program, please contact us at [email protected]. Be sure to include your best email address and phone number when applying for registration.
*Please note that all Cotillion Classes have been moved to Sunday afternoons. Cotillion Balls remain on Saturday evenings.
About Director
Reed Horton, Director, received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Hollins College. She has been a Cotillion instructor since 1996. Reed resides in Farmville with her husband and two sons.
Tory Wade, Director, received a Bachelor of Arts from Sweet Briar College. She has been a Cotillion instructor since 1998. Tory resides in Farmville with her husband and son.
