FAQ'S

What classes are offered in High Point?

Pre-Cotillion is offered to students in Kindegarten through Fourth grade. Our Fall class will meet each Sunday afternoon during the month of October.  Our Spring Class will meet each Sunday during the month of March. These classes will be held at the historic home of the High Point Junior League known as the Briles House.

Junior Cotillion Year I is offered to rising 5th and 6th graders. The events are held from October through March and consist of five classes, a Winter Semi-Formal and a Grand Spring Ball. Tuition is $340 for the season.

Junior Cotillion Year II is offered to rising 7th and 8th graders and rising 6th graders who have completed Year I. The events are held once per month from September through March and consist of five classes, a five-course instructional dinner, and a Grand Spring Ball. Tuition is $360 for the season.

Premiere is our advanced program for students who wish to build upon the foundational skills they have mastered in our Year 1 and Year 2 programs.

High School Assistants (9th-12th graders) are also needed to help set up, clean up, and demonstrate lessons to the younger students. This is a great way to earn volunteer hours.

Where do classes meet?

All Junior Cotillion Year 1 and Year 2 classes and events are currently held at the High Point Country Club on the second Wednesday of each month. Pre-Cotillion and Premier classes are held the historic Briles House in downtown High Point.

Which class is right for my child?

Classes are divided by grade:

Pre-Cotillion is offered to K-4th graders

Year I and Year II are offered to 5th-8th graders.

Premiere Program is available to 7th-12th grade students who have successfully completed the Year 1 and Year 2 curriculum.

High School Assistants are 9th-12th graders who help setup, cleanup, and demonstrate lessons in exchange for volunteer hours.

I am not sure about my child’s schedule, should I register anyway? Early registration is necessary to ensure placement. Enrollment is given on a first-come, first-served basis which is dependent on the receipt of registration and tuition payment. It is recommended that you register and pay the required 50% deposit to reserve your child’s seat. Because classes fill up quickly, a waitlist will be added as needed. Your deposit is fully refundable up until October 1, 2025.

How do I pay? We accept several payment options.  A 50% deposit is required to reserve a spot in any of our classes. Please contact the director if you need to make other arrangements. Payment plans are available by request only.  During registration, you will be able to choose whether you prefer to mail a check, pay online, venmo, or paypal.

What do the students wear? Each Class is considered a "dress up" event.  Ladies should wear conservative, age-appropriate dresses or skirts and shoes suitable for dancing. Gentlemen please wear khaki pants, dress shirt, tie, navy or dark blazer/sport coat, and shoes suitable for dancing such as dress shoes, clean deck shoes, or loafers.  Grand Spring Ball: ladies traditionally wear WHITE knee-length or longer dresses and gentlemen wear a suit with tie.
