Classes
Pre-Cotillion (Grades 2nd-4th)
PRE-COTILLION offers instruction in the areas of basic manners in the home. We will begin with proper greetings and introduction, manner words and their meanings, referred to as power words, that will instill common courtesies throughout their lifetimes--"Thank You", "You’re Welcome", "Yes ma’am", "No ma’am", "Yes sir", "No sir", "Please, may I?", "I’m sorry", and "Excuse me". Each class will emphasize table manners, proper setting with varied dining options (family style, serving line, and restaurant style). Class instruction will also include small social events; such as, birthday parties, team sports/games, etc. Along with social settings, we share the important roles of how to be a proper host and/or guest. Wrapping up our season, we will show gratitude towards others with proper writing correspondances of Thank You notes. To help ease students into future Junior Cotillion, we will have some fun with basic line dance steps. During the last portion of our final class, we will invite parents to join us for light refreshments and a celebration of our learning!
