Welcome to Cotillion
Due to the recent decision by Fairfax County Public Schools to start the 2020-21 school year 100% remote due to the surge of Covid-19 cases across the country and Virginia, we will be delaying the start of our program until early 2021 to protect our students, teachers, and staff.
Due to Covid-19 our season is going to be different than years past in the following ways:
All classes and dinner will be held during a 3 month period.
Classes will now be 1 hour long and only consist of etiquette and light refreshments.
New Classroom Layout
- Students will be seated at tables to ensure social distancing. Etiquette will be more interactive and discussion based.
- Out of an abundance of caution, and to meet social distancing guidelines, we will not be teaching any dance lessons this year.
Classes will not be assigned by school this year and will max out at 30 students. Parents will be able to pick from three groups (in most chapters) with different start times for their students class this year.
Regsitration will happen on a first come first serve basis. To solidify your spot in the class, a $25 deposit is required. If deposit is not received within two weeks of registering, the student will be put on the class wait list.
Health & Safety Guidelines:
Waiver: All students must sign a Covid-19 waiver to participate in Cotillion.
Temperature checks: All students will have a temperature before they can enter class.
Masks required: All students must keep their masks on during class, except during refreshments.
Hand sanitizer: Hand sanitizer will be provided throughout the class.
Seating arrangments: Students will be sitting at tables with appropriate social distancing between them.
Reduced numbers: We will have fewer students and student assistants in each class.
Online Class option:
We are providing an online-only option for students who can participate in 5 live Zoom classes and opt in to the end-of-season dinner for an addition fee of $50.
Class Pricing & Payment Policy
5 Classes | 1 Instructional Dinner
First and Second year will both consist of 5 classes and an instructional dinner and tuition for both years is $365. First year costs will remain the same as last year due to the five-course instructional dinner instead of the Spring Ball. The second year cost is decreased due to shortened classes with no dancing.
Tuition can be payed monthly, or incrementally at your discretion if it is paid in full by the final dinner
2 full scholarships and 3 half scholarships provided per chapter on a first come and need based situation. Please email [email protected] if interested.
We will be providing online makeup classes for anyone that misses a class for any reason. If we must delay any classes or events due to an increase in COVID-19 cases, we will likely resume in Spring. Condensing the season allows us to have more flexibility in terms of make up dates.
2020-21 Refund Policy
With the potential for missed classes, or a possible shut down due to Covid-19. We have outlined all possible refunds based* on the number of classes we are able to conduct.
*Based on someone who has paid full tuition before the first class. If only partial payment, all refunds will be prorated based on amount of classes attended minus administrative fee.
