registration for the fall 2025-2026 JUNIOR COTILLION season is now open!
The Wake Forest Chapter meets on a series of Sundays at The Sutherland in Wake Forest. Our Pre-Cotillion class will be held from 12 pm-1 pm for children in grades 1st-4th. Our Junior Cotillion class Year 1 is hosted from 1:30pm- 3:00pm and our Junior Cotillion Class Year 2 is hosted from 3:30pm-5:00pm.
The Sutherland is located at 13371 Wake Union Church Road in Wake Forest.
Our Year 1 Junior Cotillion is a program designed for children in grades 5-8. Year One (new students in 5th, 6th or 7th grade), and is a mix of etiquette and dance instruction including the cha cha, fox trot, beach shag and line dances. The social and character education components of the program include introductions and proper rising, acknowledgment of gifts, correspondence and the RSVP, participating in group settings, polite conversation, paying and receiving compliments, manners in the home, rules of proper telephone courtesy, basic table manners and many other areas of social behavior. Our Year 2 Junior Cotillion class focuses on more advanced social and educational instruction along with advancing their knowledge on the dances learned in Year 1. Pre-Cotillion class is focused on our younger children and serves as an introduction to social and interpersonal situations. Along with fun and games, we offer a beginning look at manners and etiquette.
TUITION: $380 which includes all costs for the Year 1 and Year 2 classes and ball. If more than one child in a family registers for the current year, the first child is full tuition and each additional child is half tuition $190. Tuition for Pre-Cotillion is $250 for the first child and $125 for each additional child.
MAKE UP CLASSES: If your child is unable to attend a class, they are welcome to attend the same class (for example Class 1) at any other time, day or location. To view those class schedules, please select the Director Home tab and choose a chapter.
DRESS CODES:
Dress Code for classes: Ladies should wear age appropriate dresses or skirts, dress shoes and short white gloves. Gentlemen should wear khaki pants, dress shirts, ties, navy or dark blazers and dress shoes.
Dress Code for Grand Ball: Ladies should wear tea length or longer white dresses and short white gloves. Gentlemen should wear black tie tuxedos.

The Wake Forest Chapter of the National League of Junior Cotillions are under the direction of Ashlee Adams, Gayle Adams and Amber Toy. We have been hosting Cotillion at our facility for years and look forward to welcoming your children back to The Sutherland.
