APPROPRIATE DRESS:
Classes - All Junior Cotillion sessions are dress-up affairs for which careful grooming is required. Hair should be neatly combed; fingernails clipped and clean, shoes polished and so forth.
Gentlemen should wear khaki pants, white dress shirts, ties, and navy or dark blazers. Dancing requires hard-sole shoes; no athletic shoes, boat shoes or flip flops, please. Smooth rubber bottoms on shoes, like penny loafers, are much easier to dance with and will not leave scuff marks on the floor.
Ladies should wear conservative Sunday dresses or skirts and dress shoes for classes. The attire exception that I have for young ladies is that they may wear dress sandals, as long as the shoes have a back strap to secure the shoe to the foot. Ladies should wear a cardigan or shrug when wearing sleeveless dresses. Gloves for young ladies will be available for purchase at the first class ($10.00 cash or check only, please).
Grand Spring Ball - The Grand Spring Ball is a semi-formal event for which appropriate dress is required. Ladies should wear knee-length or longer, age-appropriate white dresses and short white gloves. Gentlemen should wear khaki pants, white dress shirts, ties, and navy or dark blazers or black tie tuxedos, at the director's request. Dark suits are acceptable.
