Year 1 of cotillion is 5 90-minute instructional classes and 2 2hr30min Balls. (Holly Ball in December and Black and White Ball in March). In Year 1 cotillion, you can expect your child to learn everyday manners such as proper greeting and introductions, and handshakes. They will also learn formal manners, such as the escort position and receiving lines. We also cover sports and electronic etiquette. They will also be exposed to basic ballroom dances: Waltz, Foxtrot, Shag/Swing, and Cha-Cha. We will have 2 Balls, a Holly Ball and a Spring Ball, where we put everything together. Parents are invited to attend the last 30 minutes of class 5 to learn basic dances, and then they can attend the last hour of the Spring Ball to showcase their skills.
