About
Junior Cotillion Year I introduces students to etiquette, manners, character, and dance. Students learn polite conversation, introductions, thank-you notes, first impressions, table manners, and basic dining etiquette. Dance instruction covers the Foxtrot, Swing, Cha-Cha, Waltz, and contemporary line dances, helping students build confidence and poise. Those who complete Year One are invited to continue in Year Two for more advanced lessons and an instructional dinner.
Junior Cotillion Year II builds on students’ social and dance skills with more advanced lessons. Classes cover public manners, character development, guest and host etiquette, interview skills, dress codes, tying a tie, table manners, cell phone etiquette, polite conversation, formal dining, and place settings. Dance instruction includes advanced steps and combinations in the Foxtrot, Swing, Cha-Cha, Waltz, and contemporary line dances. The program features an instructional dinner and culminates with the Grand Ball, where students practice their skills in a fun, social setting.
Dress Code for Ladies: Ladies should wear age-appropriate knee-lenth dresses, dress shoes or closed-toe flats, and short white gloves. Gloves will be provided by the Director for an additional fee.
Dress Code for Gentlemen: Gentlemen should wear khaki pants with dress shirts, ties, navy blazers, and dress shoes. Athletic or open-toe shoes will be permitted.
