National League of Junior Cotillion Greater Houston Lake Chapter
Classes
Students will receive a handbook to review and practice skills during the month between classes and are encouraged to complete a "Cotillion Challenge" each month which is in their student booklet provided.
Classes are once a month on Sunday afternoon and will be held at Hummingbird Hill Farms in Perry, GA. Class dates and times are TBD.
Allergies Awareness: The director will not be held responsible with respect to accommodating food allergies. We prioritize the well-being of all our students and will provide refreshments that do not contain nuts, but we cannot guaranteed a "nut-free" environment. If your student has any foodborne allergies, please send an appropriate snack item in a designated/marked bag with their name on it for each class.
Dress Code for Junior Cotillion:
All Junior Cotillion sessions are dress-up occasions, and thoughtful grooming is an important part of the experience. Students should arrive looking neat and polished- hair combed, fingernails clean and trimmed, and shoes appropriate and in good condition.
Ladies should wear conservative Sunday dresses or skirts paired with dress shoes. Dress sandals are permitted as long as they have a back strap to secure the shoe to the foot. If wearing a sleeveless dress, a cardigan or shrug should be worn for modesty and formality.
Gentlemen should wear khaki pants, white dress shirt, tie and navy or dark blazer. Dancing requires hard-soled dress shoes, so please no athletic shoes, boat shoes, or flip-flops.
The Spring Ball
This semi-formal event is where the students get to show off their new skills and have an evening filled with dancing, socializing, and celebration. Featuring decorations, refreshments, party favors, and prizes this event creates a truly special experience that brings everything they've learned to life.
Ladies should wear knee-length or longer white, cream or light pastel colored dresses. We ask that no backless or strapless dresses are worn.
Gentlemen should wear khaki pants, white dress shirt, tie and navy or dark blazer. A dark suit is also acceptable.
