ABOUT JUNIOR COTILLION

Junior Cotillion, with a three year curriculum, is designed to give young people instruction and practice in the courtesies that make life more pleasant for them and those around them, give them thorough training in standard ballroom dance, and to provide opportunities to practice and enjoy these skills at memorable parties, balls, dinners and events, complete with decorations, refreshments, favors and prizes.


Classes meet once a month from September through March.

General information:

Class/Dances- All instructional classes/dances are dress-up affairs for which careful grooming is required. Hair should be neatly combed, fingernails clipped and clean, and shoes polished. Ladies should wear age appropriate, knee length dresses or skirts and dress shoes are preferred. Gentlemen should wear khaki pants, dress shirt, tie and sport coat, socks and dress shoes. Suits are fine

Student Booklets – We provide instructional booklets at the first class. This is your opportunity to review material with your student. Homework is not required, but encouraged. Students should bring booklets to each class - Assistants check for homework challenge and students who complete are entered into prize drawings.

Attendance is very important however, if it is necessary for your child to miss a class, please have your student call my office. 478-335-8867. Please do not make the call for them unless they are ill, as this is part of social training.

DRESS REQUIREMENTS FOR THE GRAND SPRING BALL 


    Young ladies, in season one classes, should wear white, age-appropriate party style dresses. (cream or pale pastel dresses are acceptable) Dresses should be to the knee, tea length (mid calf) or to the floor. No backless, strapless or halter tops please. If in doubt add a shrug, sweater or jacket. SHORT WHITE GLOVES are required.

    Gentlemen,  in season two classes, should wear black tuxes .Gentlemen who do not wear a tux should wear dark suit or dark jacket with khaki pants. WHITE shirt and tie. Bow ties are acceptable. .
