GENERAL CLASS INFORMATION FOR THE UPCOMING SEASON

JUNIOR COTILLION PROGRAM

Junior Cotillion I

For new 5th– new 6th grade students who are new to Cotillion, Junior Cotillion I is the perfect place to begin. While the curriculum is designed for each age group, starting here gives students the fullest experience and a strong foundation for the years ahead.

  • 6th graders new to Cotillion should begin in Year I, to ensure they learn the essential skills from the start.

  • 5th graders new to Cotillion gain an especially powerful advantage, entering middle school with greater confidence and social readiness than many of their peers.

Instruction includes proper introductions, polite conversation, table manners, receiving lines, paying and receiving compliments, and courtesies in the home. Social dance lessons include the Foxtrot, Waltz, Swing/Shag, and Cha Cha. The Grand Spring Ball serves as the finale to the Cotillion season. Tuition: $469.

Junior Cotillion II

For returning 6th– new 7th grade students, Junior Cotillion II continues the lessons of Year I and introduces more advanced instruction.

  • 6th graders may enroll only if they have already completed Year I.

  • 7th graders new to Cotillion should begin here, as this class provides the appropriate entry point for their age group while still covering the full range of essential skills.

The program features a 5-course instructional meal and lessons on social graces, dressing appropriately, dining etiquette, and manners at home and in public. Students learn advanced dance combinations and dance in the closed position. The Grand Spring Ball provides a formal setting to showcase what they have learned. Tuition: $595.

Junior Cotillion Premier

For returning 7th– new 8th grade students, Premier is the capstone experience of the Junior Cotillion program.

  • 7th graders who have completed Years I and II progress naturally into Premier, where they step into leadership roles and polish their skills at a higher level.

  • 8th graders new to Cotillion should begin here, as the curriculum is tailored to meet the maturity and social needs of this age group while ensuring they receive all the foundational training they need.

Premier combines in-class instruction with cultural outings where students practice their manners in real-world settings. Instruction includes international dining etiquette and theater etiquette, reinforced through field trips. Tuition: $595.
