What is Labor Day?
A holiday dedicated to the social and economic achievements of American workers. It is a yearly national celebration to the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country.
When is Labor Day?
Labor Day always falls on the first Monday in September.
What to wear to a Labor Day Party?
Dating back to the Victorian Era, it was a fashion faus pax to wear any white clothing after summer officially ended on Labor Day. So ladies, break that white out one last time add a pop of red and blue and you will be the best looking lady at the party! Gentlemen, dress your casual best in polos, shorts, boat shoes and don’t forget to pack a bathing suit if necessary! If you are throwing the party, add some fun with beads, Hawaiian leis, hats, and even glow sticks.
Taking a host/ hostess gift?
Take a small token to show your appreciation for the invitation! Range the price of the gift anywhere from $10 to $20. Great gift ideas would be a candle or even a new frame for a picture taken at their Labor Day party!
Should I offer to bring anything?
It is always great etiquette to offer to bring something or see where the host/hostess may need help! It is always fun to host a party, but extra hands can relieve a lot of stress! More than likely the host will turn down your offer, but it will be noted for invitations to future parties.
Labor Day is a celebration of the labor force and the perfect opportunity to connect and spend time with co-workers, friends, family, and neighbors Enjoy!
