Simone Biles tops ‘best-mannered people’ list

Not only is gymnast Simone Biles a world and Olympic champion, she’s polite, too.
Biles, 19, of Spring, the four-time Olympic gold medalist and three-time world all-around women’s gymnastics champion, topped the list of 10 “Best-Mannered People” selected by the National League of Junior Cotillions.
The group, based in Charlotte, N.C., says its mission statement for members is “To act and learn to treat others with honor, dignity and respect for better relationships with family, friends and associates and to learn and practice ballroom dance.”
Biles’ skills at ballroom dancing have yet to be determined, but the group nonetheless placed her atop its list of well-mannered individuals that included actor Matt Damon, golfer Rory McIlroy, Olympic swimmer Missy Franklin, Fox News anchor Chris Wallace, and former Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson.
Biles was cited for “serving as an excellent role model for today’s youth.”
